CCKY spans nearly 50 miles from Berryton, Georgia, up through Chattanooga, Tennessee, where it offers customers access to the broader freight-rail network via Norfolk Southern. 

 

First Coast Railroad (FCRD)

FCRD's 31-mile route begins at the Port of Fernandina in Florida and ends with 14 miles in Georgia, at Seals. The railroad connects with fellow short line St. Mary's Railroad in Kingsland, Georgia (as well as with Class I CSX in Yulee, Florida). 

 

Georgia Central Railway (GC)

GC is a 211-mile railroad that spans from Savannah to Macon, interchanging with CSX (at the Savannah end) and Norfolk Southern (at the Macon end) along the way. GC is a bonded carrier and offers more than 35 industrial development and four transload sites along its route. The railroad was awarded Railway Age magazine's "Regional Railroad of the Year" in 2026.  

 

Georgia Southwestern Railroad (GSWR)

GSWR runs 213 miles, with 196 track miles in Georgia. The railroad interchanges with Norfolk Southern in Columbus and has trackage rights from Albany to Americus. 

 

Golden Isles Terminal Railroad (GITM)

GITM is a 7-mile short line that runs from Brunswick to Anguilla, offering safe and efficient freight service to industrial customers on the southeast Georgia coast and dual Class I access via interchanges in Anguilla with CSX and Norfolk Southern.

 

Heart of Georgia Railroad (HOG)

At 227 miles long, HOG spans from southcentral Georgia to Lyons and up to Midville. It has 17 industrial development and two transload sites along the way and connects to CSX in Cordele, Norfolk Southern in Americus and fellow short line The Georgia Southern Railway in Midville.

 

Hilton & Albany Railroad (HAL)

HAL's route is nearly 60 miles from Hilton to Albany, where it connects with Norfolk Southern. 

 

Riceboro Southern Railway (RSOR)

Running nearly parallel to Interstate 95, RSOR begins in Riceboro and runs 18 miles up to Savannah (including trackage rights from Richmond Hill, where the short line connects with CSX, to Savannah). 

 

Savannah Port Terminal Railroad (SAPT)

SAPT hauls freight from the Port of Savannah to Garden City, where it offers interchanges with both CSX and Norfolk Southern, granting shippers access to the overall North American freight-rail network and the ability to reach end markets across the continent. In 2021, SAPT broadened its agreement with Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) to include GPA's Mason Mega Rail Terminal. 

 

Valdosta Railway (VR)

This Georgia short line extends 10 miles from Clyattville to Valdosta, where it provides industries access to CSX and Norfolk Southern connections and boasts six industrial development sites as well as three railcar-to-truck transloads.
