Genesse & Wyoming has nine railroads in Alabama, covering more than 450 miles of track with 150 employees.

Alabama & Gulf Coast Railway (AGR)

AGR's route begins in Columbus, Mississippi; crosses into Alabama, where it operates 330 track miles in the state; and continues down to Pensacola, Florida. The railroad also has trackage rights from Kimbrough to the Port of Mobile and operates a small branch from Mobile to the Saraland area. AGR offers tremendous access to the broader North American freight-rail network with connections to BNSF (in Armory, Mississippi), Canadian National (in Mobile), CSX (in Linden and Mobile as well as Cantonment, Florida), CPKC (in Columbus, Mississippi), Norfolk Southern (in Mobile, Kimbrough, Demopolis and Boligee), as well as fellow short line Terminal Railway (in Mobile) and rail-ferry operation CG Railway (in Mobile). 

 

The Bay Line Railroad (BAYL)

BAYL, which runs from Panama City, Florida, to Abbeville and from Dothan to Hilton, Georgia, has 44 miles in the state. It offers customers access to CSX's network in Dothan.

 

Columbus & Chattahoochee Railroad (CCH)

CCH spans 26 miles from Columbus to Mahrt and interchanges with Norfolk Southern in Columbus. Four industrial development sites sit along the CCH route.

 

Conecuh Valley Railway (COEH)

COEH serves industries in the Troy and Goshen areas, connecting to CSX in Troy. The West Pike Street industrial site also sits alongside the short line.

 

Eastern Alabama Railway (EARY)

EARY is a 27-mile short line that runs from Gantts Quarry to Talladega, interchanging with CSX in Talladega and Norfolk Southern in Sylacauga. 

 

Georgia Southwestern Railroad (GSWR)

The GSWR route includes 15 miles in Alabama, from Eufala to White Oak. The railroad's connections in southwestern Georgia offer customers access to the Norfolk Southern route in Albany and Columbus.

 

Luxapalila Valley Railroad (LXVR)

The 35-mile LXVR runs from Belk to Columbus, Mississippi, where customers of the short line can access several Class I networks, including BNSF, CPKC and Norfolk Southern. 

 

Meridian & Bigbee Railroad (MNBR)

MNBR operates CPKC's line from Meridian, Mississippi, to Myrtlewood, Alabama, where customers can access either CSX's or CPKC's route. 

 

Wiregrass Central Railway (WGCR)
