Genesee & Wyoming is proud to be one of the first short line railroad participants in the U.S. EPA SmartWay^SM Transportation Partnership, a voluntary collaboration between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the freight transportation industry designed to increase energy efficiency while significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions. GWI received a top SmartWay Performance Score of 1.25 for outstanding environmental performance.
